Appalachians across seven states felt the brunt of Hurricane Helene this week. Our hearts are with those who are affected, including residents and responders. We're working closely with our state and local partners to make sure Appalachians can access available resources.
To help the flow of information to Appalachians about conditions and support, we've made a list of state and regional resources for the most impacted areas. (Share more in our Instagram comments.)
Disaster agencies and officials are providing regular safety and recovery updates. Regional organizations, including community foundations, are marshalling donations to move aid and clean up.
There will be much to do in the coming days, weeks and months. The resilience, compassion and community care shown by Appalachians – especially in times of crisis – will help the region rise up stronger than before.
